Praise - What Is It?
The Bible, the divinely inspired and express character
of God's True and living Being, says that man was originally created to praise and worship
Him "This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise." Isaiah 43:21.
"Be exalted, O LORD, in Your own strength! We
will sing and praise Your power." Psalm 21:13.
Psalm 148
Praise to the LORD from Creation
1
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
2Praise Him, all His
angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
3Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
4Praise
Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!
5Let them praise the name of the LORD,
For
He commanded and they were created.
6He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which
shall not pass away.
7Praise the LORD from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
8Fire
and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
9Mountains and all hills;
Fruitful trees
and all cedars;
10Beasts and all cattle;
Creeping things and flying fowl;
11Kings of the
earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth;
12Both young men and maidens;
Old men and
children.
13Let them praise the name of the LORD,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above
the earth and heaven.
14And He has exalted the horn of His people,
The praise of all His saints--
Of
the children of Israel,
A people near to Him.
Praise the LORD!
The sheer exuberation that comes from the deliverance of worshipping
God from one's heart is incomparable - and likewise the transference of His Love immerses us in the absolute harbour
of the arms of His Love that's alive and tangible: electrical and phenomenal!
Surely we experienced that
on 4 April 2002 at The Upper Room Fellowship Serangoon Gardens' Country Club. And our very own Upper Room Fellowship
Worship Team provided the backup musical support, too!
Talk about wow worship!
Brendon and Cathie have
been ministering in prophetic worship with a particular anointing to release young people into their true callings in Christ
Jesus for 20 years. They have been fulfilling their calling of an itinerant ministry for the last 2 years now.
They seek, follow after and therefore know God with a passion
and it is exactly this passion that fuels their God-given desire to see one generation praise His works to another through
His Word and the power of praise.
During
the intercession time, Er. Joseph had a vision of a golden chariot descending from heaven with Brendon and Cathie stepping
out of it! And during the intercession time at the first time they spoke at The Upper Room Fellowship, Er. Joseph saw
the words "The Power of Praise" descending from heaven.
We were called back to our own child inside our hearts
as we watched with absolute delight the abandonment of the children to dance and praise their Lord! King David surely
must have danced like this before His Lord! And one precious child came to know the Lord as her personal Saviour and
Lord of her life amen!
And you know what? The anointing carries back to you! Brendon
and Cathie are so youthful-looking themselves, praise God for that!
Matthew 18:3
and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted
and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Psalm 145:4
One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
Psalm 78:4
We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the
generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.
Psalm 102:18
This will be written for the generation to come, That a people
yet to be created may praise the LORD.
2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror
the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Therefore to know God is to know His Word, to know the chambers
of His heart is to know Him through His Word anointed by the Holy Spirit.
Praise is marvelously designed to carry the adoration of pure
hearts to our Blessed Creator. Likewise it charges us with the power (divine electricity) of the Holy Spirit to bless first
(always) God and be blessed back. It lifts our hearts out of our hearts: "I cry out with my whole heart; Hear me, O LORD! I will keep Your statutes." Psalm 119:145.
It's a communication, a divine communication to the
Creator of the stars cloaked in majesty from His child: "Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, And array yourself with glory
and beauty." Job 40:10.
The higher
the quality or purity of the transformer (just like an electrical one),
the higher the voltage and the greater the current because the transmission of power is unhindered! The greater the
presence and displacement (absolutely can no darkness be in the presence of light: it's a reality!) and manifestation
of God the greater the results thereof which are joy, healing, deliverance, salvation and all the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Less
of us = and more of God. A simple equation, really. And one that we must endeavour to realise in our Christian
walk by the power of the Holy Spirit. It can be done! More of God = more of the Holy Spirit = greater anointing
= greater vibration - and then the explosion of God. Bang! Transformed.
Praise is a sacrifice and
understand this it can be an agonising one at that and it could cost you a little or a lot but it will cost
you. It costs you your self and your time. We were made to praise and worship Him. Not in good times.
Not in bad times. Full stop. ALL THE TIME.
God is the most understanding Father you will ever have: so
even in the darkest circumstances He will enable you to rise to praise Him. He'll cover you with support.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken
you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but
with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
Praise
demands sacrifice because our circumstances can never dictate what Christ did on the cross. Beautiful Love.
When
we focus on Christ, truly it's less of us and more of Him. Sacrifice.
Psalm 113:3
From the rising of the
sun to its going down The LORD's name is to be praised.
It demands love unselfishly even when you dont feel like it
because 2,001 years ago, Love on a cross gave it all.
His
Name is Jesus Christ the Messiah.
Psalm 54:6
I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your
name, O LORD, for it is good.
Jeremiah 17:26
And they shall come from the cities of Judah and from the
places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin and from the lowland, from the mountains and from the South, bringing burnt
offerings and sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, bringing sacrifices of praise to the house of the LORD.
